OHS girls' hoop team beats Bloomfield
Shereeka Russell had 19 points and Aquiyah Williams had 18 points, six steals, five assists and four rebounds to rally the Orange High School girls' varsity basketball team to a 44-36 home win over Bloomfield on Saturday Jan. 7 in Super Essex Conference-Colonial Division play.
Esther Adams also had four points, 12 rebounds and seven assists and Ruth Adams and Yaramo Dione each had five rebounds withouth any points for the Torndoes, who erased a 24-22 halftime deficit by outscoring Bloomfield, 12-4, in the third quarter and 10-8 in the fourth quarter. OHS snapped a two-game losing streak and improved to 2-5.
