Adam Maduro scored 24 ponts and Khalid Muhammad had 19 points to spark the Orange High School boys' varsity basketball team to a 64-58 win over Snyder last Saturday Jan. 7 in Jersey City.
With the non-conference win, the Tornadoes snapped a two-game losing streak to improve to 5-4.
Cornelius Wilson also had 12 points, all on free throws, for OHS, which also received four points each from Keyshawn Alexander and Kassan Messiah.
Maduro scored 14 points and Louis Williams had 13 points for the Tornadoes in a 62-47 loss to Newark Vocational on Jan. 3 in Newark in Super Essex Conference-Liberty Division play.
Messiah had 10 points and Muhammad was held to six points.
Trailing 38-27 at halftime, the Tornadoes outscored Newark Vocational, 16-10, in the third quarter to draw within 48-43. But Newark Vocational regained control in the fourth quarter to win.
The Tornadoes lost to Bloomfield, 52-51, on Jan. 5 at OHS in divisional play. Jaleel Jimenez hit the game-winning free throw with one seconnd left for Bloomfield.
The Tornadoes led 22-17 at halftime before the Bengals rallied to take a 40-32 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Maduro led all scorers with 20 points and Williams had 10 points. Muhammad and Wilson each had seven points for the Tornadoes.
